Are you having trouble being heard? He@rd was a contemporary theatre piece that examined power and who’s voice is the loudest in community. Utilising technology and innovative staging, SEA’s Theatre Ensemble’s asked the question: “Are you listening, can you be he@rd?”

The Ballad of Penelope and Marlin – a Uniquely Great Southern Musical at the Town Hall

The Ballad of Penelope and Marlin was a comical look at life in the future, where robot bees tend to your needs and love begins with an upgrade. Marlin is the last in a long line of fishermen. With no fish left in the oceans, he reluctantly entered Harmony Hive and met Penelope, a future star, who disrupted the hive with a start up like no other.

This uniquely Great Southern musical was about hope, desire and a hive that is home to humans and the last living bee. Created exclusively by Artists from the Great Southern Region and including live musical performances The Ballad of Penelope and Marlin was a great night out at the Albany Town Hall.

Elemental 2020

Elemental was a multi-art performance that included aerial arts, theatre and fire spinning.

Created by young performers at Southern Edge Arts, Elemental followed the antics of a group of teenagers living on Mars, who fly to Earth to find a world where the Elements are in disharmony. Trapeze, Silk, and Lyra artists presented their interpretation of each of the four elements in a skilful display of Aerial Arts. and fire performers dazzled the audience with their fire spinning. Supported by The City of Albany, and presented by Act Belong Commit, this free community performance was the first show of the year for Southern Edge Arts in 2020.
