“Ahah, there they are, the shinies, all the world below me full of shinies. They are like stars on earth! The town is full to the brim.”
Redde can’t remember, who he is or what the shines are?
When a car hits a magpie, ghosts come for breakfast, a boy steals a Polaroid camera and a left footed shoe decides to live with a gumboot.
Twelve tales burst out of the mouths of young people from the mighty Great Southern Ocean. For six months twelve young people from Southern Edge Arts have worked with Australia’s Award winning writer Director Lockie McDonald to write Shiny Things.
It’s a short hour of knockout physical theatre, jumping with energy. Life as a teenager in Albany is surprisingly quirky, funny but has an edge that will bring a tear to your eye.
Shiny Things is a unique experience. The audience becomes the harbour as local kids tell interconnecting tales with hilarious mix of dance, storytelling and teabag rockets!
